My internship program is less than a year but has more hours completed than Loma Linda. Yes Loma Linda has a 1 year internship program but their hours which I have found out is equivalent to 1,440 hours(36 weeks), this is on a 40hr/week basis. My internship program did 56hrs/week and our total clinical hours is 1,560. So I think 1 year internship is not the whole basis but the hours. If not I am getting a lawyer. haha. What do you guys think? You think i should apply |

What do you guys think? You think i should apply all California based NAACLS approved programs satisfies the state requirement of one year, whether 36 weeks or more. Their programs are approved by the state, hence no need to worry. You can pick any of those two you like. What is the other school that you are interested in? |

You think I might have a shot of being approved? most definitely! I heard it takes up to six months though. Did you take the online quiz already? There are also many California posts and many experts in this matter that also reside there. I know indeed.com has no search, but when you have time take a look. |

How does one go about getting the requisite experience if one is not a graduate of a CA MT program? Can one just get a job and ask to be rotated through the sections that CA requires and hit the right number of hours for each section? In other words, would a year of general work suffice as a substitute for a program supervised by a college or university, provided that the work is documented by a supervisor? I am at UTMB-Galveston and attending part-time. I think that I may be Cali bound in a few years and would like to get the CA license well in advance. Thanks for any help. |

If you've graduated from a NAACLS's accredited program from any other state and passed your boards, you should be fine in obtaining the california license. All NAACL's programs required us to do a 1 year internship of rotations. |

My knowledge about that is you need 4 years being rotated in a clinical lab with documentation but if your program passes the requirements posted on the LFS website you should be ok. again Im pretty suspicious about that 1 year internship program, it is not specific enough, plus it is said on their website "may be determined by the department plus one year as
SO ITS NOT OFFICIALLY ONE YEAR!!!! :) But better if it is. More assurance :D |
