Is it winthrop? that's where im doing my rotation at the moment. I know a graduate who was offered close to 30 an hour in one of the city hospitals. The work stress is unbelievably easy in long island, in my rotation at the hematology section I barely do anything. Like literally nothing, it's just cutting time till the day is over, ocassionally some fun moments with the diffs and microscopic work but that's about it. Not bad for the amount we make in the end.

Haha, what a suprise coincidence, I did my rotation in winthrop too. But winthrop is not private, i heard people said, winthrop may paid 4k or little more for the entry level. so which city hospital pay more. oh, one thing u have to be clear is that whether this graduate work in night shift or not. because night shift making close to 30/hr is not a lot. I guess u r a st. john student.

I had a rotation last year. i saw two st.john girls there, and talk to one,and i think she is graudated right now as well as me. I feel like u r going to graduate next year, right?

I can't comment yet as I have yet to do my rotations in the city, but I've heard several hospitals do pay more than $25/hr base in the city (look for one's that don't hire MLTs, give more to nationally certified techs). Heck there are hospitals in eastern NJ which pay 25/hr starting, and the taxes are much lower on this side of the river. Might as well work in NJ or LI to avoid the wretched NYC tax...
