I have been a medical transcriptionist for 19 years. The clinic I have been contracted through has gone to electronic medical records, which leaves me out in the cold. I still have some work as all the physicians have not switched over yet, but my days are numbered. I have done a majority of the specialties and I am willing to learn new ones. I am a quick learner. I just thought I would let you know that I have heard from people who work for OSI transcription and they say it is a nice company to work for. Also when I applied there they were looking for experienced people and that was just last week.

It's been quite awhile since I have done Dermatology, but I do have over 30 years' transcription experience and it has covered quite a few specialties. I currently have plastic surgery accounts, and I've been transcribing for a couple of emergency departments for several years. What type of work is it? Chart notes? Letters? Or? What is the volume and what do you pay?

Basically clinical notes, I have one female doc that is in the clinic 4 days a week. The pay is 8 c per line.

I worked for two dermatologists for about a year when I had my own MT company in 1998. I have 19 years experience in MT. I am looking for supplemental income - interested in part-time transcription from home. I have a full-time job so I can't commit to long hours every night after work but am interested to learn more about opportunities with your company. I worked as home-based MT for 6 years doing hospital dictation so I have experience with several specialities including radiology, ortho, cardio, urology, gastroenterology and of course the clinics.

I also hold a degree in Sports Medicine and have worked in hospitals for almost 10 years. I don't understand how you lose your job with electronic medical records. Are they just scanning in doctors' notes rather that dictating them and having them transcribed? Or are you using term EMR to mean voice recognition? Thanks, anyone, for answering.

Have you tried mtjobs.com? Last time I looked, they had 74 jobs posted. That is how I got my job.
