I am working on my transcription and a question that I am being asked but cannot find any information on is.....

Sometimes physicians will dictate items in a series with conjunctions between the items instead of the usual commas. Would it be appropriate to edit out the conjunctions and insert commas?

Can anyone answer this question for me? I would really appreciate it. Thanks for your help.
