I am a new transcriptionist, and landed my first job as an IC. I have been working for the company for 18 months, and make $.065 per line. I feel that this is rather low, and am wondering about what other MTs are making?

I've been a medical transcriptionist for over 20 years and definitely feel that what you are getting is a low rate unless, of course, you also have benefits with that! Unfortunately, most national companies just don't pay what we are worth! Now that you have the experience, I would definitely suggest looking around and seeing what else is out there. Unfortunately, the going rate for a national company, even with experience, tends to be about $.08 tops! Please let me know how you do, and best of luck!
