My name is Djuana and I have an Associates Degree in Medical Transcription. I have worked at a small hospital in New Mexico for the last 4 years and currently they outsourced my position, so I decided to try getting a position at home, but I am not having very good luck. Any suggestions as to what steps I need to take to make this work. |

You could first try doing some job searches similar to what you're looking for on indeed.com. Here's one I did that seems to fit what you're looking to do: www.indeed.com/jobs?q=%28Transcribing+or+transcribe+or+transcriptionist%29+medical+%22from+home%22&l=&radius= You can get some great background information on any job listing by clicking on the "more actions" link located on the bottom line of each listing. This will offer you direct links related to salary, locations, company searches, as well as links to social networking sites like LinkedIn and Ryze. Try networking on these sites and meet some people in the industry who can offer you some advice on how to get started. |

We actually have accounts in New Mexico and your experience would be very useful with ESL docs. You would need XPro or Home, DSL or Cable, complete version of Word 2003 (2002, 2000) no Vista. Please go to www.inscribe.us and apply and test..thanks |

You can try to find transcription work on freelance websites and if they are impressed by the quality of the work they might decide to use you on a more consistent basis. There are plenty of freelance websites out there, but the ones that take advantage of global labor might be much more competitive in terms of wages and it might not be the best investment of your time. You can find local transcription jobs on websites like craigslist. I have posted a lot of resources on work at home jobs in my website, and I even have an all-in-one search engine you can use to search for transcription work anywhere in America. |
