Are jobs in this industry on the rise? Are there any sub-sectors that are growing?

Where are the jobs? Which places have the most mental health counselor opportunities?

Its really hard to find a good mental health therapist. Most of them are in need of a therapist themselves.

Supposedly they are growing. But actually, in areas such as NYC there appear to be a glut of PHD and MSW therapists and MHC are just another batch of unemployed professionals. Also, many hospitals in NYC area do not have a line for the MHC so they can only be hired as low level addiction counselors.
I understand that in areas such as the midwest the degree is more marketable. In all cases, MSW is a better known degree.
