How did you get your start doing mortgage underwriter work, and what career moves did you make to get to your current position?

I got a break after being a loan closer from a boss that I had worked with before. She offered me the opportunity to learn underwriting.
It helps to start out as a Jr. Underwriter or account manager with reviewing conditions, and becoming familiar with the investor guidelines.
