I was hired a few months ago and have been working 35-45 hours for a family with two children. The family will now be going out of the country for 2 1/2 months for the husbands job. They have offered that I go along and stay as much or as little as I want. I'm married and have a life where it won't work for me to just leave town for a long period. I'm willing to go for a week or two. They have offered me a retainer fee of $140 per week while they are gone. They have also offered to pay me to do some things around the house while they are gone but don't know how many hours it will be. Has anyone had experience with this kind of thing? Is $140 a fair amount? I usually make $600-$700 per week.
