I got a live in job in Florida, and initially the job said that it was part time for 400 dollars a week after taxes. They pay for food, and I stay in their guest bedroom with a bathroom, in their home. Also, the mom is a stay at home mom, so she said she would usually be around....

Initially the job was supposed to be part time, but then I got the hours, and it added up to 37, with Sunday off, and only 350--but I talked them up to 375--per week instead of 400.

The kids are 3 months and 23 months, so obviously there are diaper changes, baths, feedings, etc.

I am also required to keep the house clean, do all of the laundry, and dishes, mopping and vacuuming--every day.

I am also expected to always travel with them, or take care of them while the parents travel.

I got here on Tuesday, and already on Thursday I worked a 12 hour day, and today, even though my hours say I don't have to start until 2pm, I started at 10 and at 2pm they left for the night, not expecting to be back until late afternoon the next day.

I have to sit down with the parents a week from now, and I am wondering if I should ask for a raise. I have already been offered numerous other jobs in Florida which would not require any diaper changes, cleaning, etc., and would still allow me to finish my 4 year degree (I'm a Junior in College).

Any suggestions, or advice about what I should do?

I also need to add that while doing over nights, I have to wake up with the baby to feed her at 5:00am, and since she sleeps on her stomach, periodically through the night to make sure she's still breathing. Then, she usually gets back up at 8:00am, when I also need to wake up the 2 year old and feed, bathe, play, etc. with him.

At the rate you are going you are going to suffer some serious burnout. I worked as a nanny years ago & my hours were very clearly defined. I got up with the kids at around 7:00am & worked until they went to bed, usually around 8:00pm. I had weekends free & only occasionally was asked to work other hours. I should add that the kids were also in school. You need to sit down & discuss hours & responsibilities with your employees.

How long have you been doing this job. By now you should have it under control. Don't you?

You don't have to burnout. The kids take naps don't they. Hey if you don't want the job give it to me. I'm supernanny123@gmail.com. I've been looking for a couple of months. There's only a couple of thousand nannies out there looking for work.

you need leave. They are robbing you blind. Go through a credible agency.

Definetly ask for more money you deserve it. You should aslo let them know you have your own schedule and will need to know you hours in advance.
