Are jobs in this industry on the rise? Are there any sub-sectors that are growing? Where are the jobs? Which places have the most network engineer opportunities? |

This industry is very tricky. There are good jobs avail. out there, as you can see by searching on this site. The thing is, you usually need some years of experience w/certs. AND like everything, the more the better! More experience and certs usually the more $$$ ! The trend for some time has been outsourcing for temp work, and additionally there has been much discussion of companies abusing H1B Visas to allow foreign workers to come into the country at a much lower rate of pay. This has created much competition, and lower salaries! Recently a large IT Co. is building new facilities in British Columbia, which is not far from it's HQ in Wash.State. The trend is to keep IT out of the country, as much as possible, for cheap! Like many good jobs they can be hard to land, and are very competitive. But success can be had. Keep your nose to the grind! |
