Hello, I recently graduated from Florida Tech with a Bachelor's in Computer Science. I have a few internships under my belt and my experience is mostly in Software Engineering, but I am more interested in Network Engineering. Specifically my end goal is a high end Cisco specialization and the ability for a high travel position to on-site locations for design, architecting, troubleshooting and installation of networks and systems. Ideally 10-15 years from now, I see myself as a highly experienced and highly specialized network and security consultant and then Grad School and Law School after that so I can go into Executive Management and IT and Telecoms Policy. What's a good company to work for that can help me grow and that has lots of room for potential that I can dedicate a lot of time to? If I'm happy with a company I don't see the need to jump around to new jobs constantly. I did very well in my Applied Statistics class (which I've been told is very important for NE) and I got an A in my Grad level Networks class, so I can do the work, and I find it interesting, but I'm also wondering if I'm qualified for the field right off the bat just from getting my degree or if I should obtain some certifications first. Any ideas/suggestions/thoughts would be greatly appreciated! Thanks. -Coleman |
