Yes. Who hires in dallas? If you don't have experience as an LVN, no one calls when you apply for a job. Very discouraged. |

Kaiser contacted me for a an LVN assessment and I am unsure of how the process goes. After many, many times of applying I was sure happy they contacted me. |

Hello everyone, It feels good to be able to post in this thread considering that I actually started this thread 1 year ago. I have been working for a year now and found a job not too long after posting this. I currently work as a Hospice Nurse. Along with visiting patients in our census I also visit Internal Medicine Drs and provide Hospice Education. I personally love my job, and being that I've been able to work with a lot of Doctors and hospitals/offices, I've built a great personal network. Although I love my job right now, I do have the freedom to leave at any time due to the relationships I've made through office visits, hospital visits, and SNF visits. I'd advise you all to look into hospice as most hospice companies will give new grads a chance, from there you build your connections and grow from there. Good luck and best wishes. |

Seriously having the same problem as all the other new nurses. I can not find a job as nurse. I have 10 years experience in the medical field, as a CNA, Med Aide, Medical Office Specialist and Medical Assistant. I'm currently working for a company as a medical assistant but am feeling over worked and under paid. Although I do nursing responsibilities the company won't recognize my title or pay because they only hire MA's or RN's and I on the other hand am an LVN. I'm submitting at least 5 applications daily and faxing dozens of resumes daily. Any advice???? |

I find postings for Lvn jobs however they want experience. Why don't they give us a chance to acquire experience. I'm a new grad. Cmon i'm a clean slate no bad habits, mold me into the nurse you want me to be but give me the chance. |

I can totally relate to all of you. I've been licensed for over a year and I can not find a job either. I got all the way to the interview at Kaiser, and the manager even told me I was the best person she interviewed but because I didn't have experience she could not hire me. I was devastated. I have probably applied to and submitted over 100 resumes. I'm at the point where I feel like I wasted my time and effort and should just change professions. |

Mollen immunization clinics are always looking for nurses. They hire new grads and the scheduling is flexible and a plus to that is also that you can use the "experience" on your resume. It's only seasonal but it's a great start :) |

Don't take this the wrong way everyone..but It feels good to know I am not the only one feeling this way...I passed my state boards in 8/2012, and have applied all over the inland empire...and STILL nothing, I am having a melt down and I almost wished I would've never went to nursing school considering I have loans to pay back and nobody will give me the time of day. I feel worthless..smh!

@ missej82 I to know how u feel I have applied online, walk ins, referrals u name it and still nothing. I have tried the hospice, hospital, nursing homes, rehab, & home health. They all want u to have sum experience becuz its California law. So Idk how so of this nurses on the blog were able to get a job with out experience.I guess they were lucky. I did give up after being shut down for every job I applied for and went into business myself as a wellness coach. I look at it like this I'm still helping people and that was my ultimate goal so yay for me. I will be going back to school next year for my RN becuz LVN was a waste for me. I wish u all the best in ur job search in the IE. U should try looking all over CA because they r hiring if ur willing to relocate I wasn't becuz its the middle of school year for my kids. If u really want this keep going forward. Best of luck. |

I've applied at hundreds of jobs and luckily after spending weeks/months of waiting I went to a convalescent, spoke to the don and had a interview the next week and an offer the following week. Good luck |

i was in the same position like most of u guys! the easier way is get somebody who knows somebody from any place u can wrk.. unfortunately influence counts a lot! i got a job in a home health because i knew somebody.. from that is was easy to get other jobs! so try to talk to people that u know theh can help u to get a job! and if u dont.. be aggresive and apply every single place, specially home health that dont need that much experience.. and if u go to apply to a facility, try to talk to the Don and dont be ashamed to look desperated.. (they usually like that because they will pay u little.. but take anything!! cus after the 1st chance.. ull b good to get any job that u want) good luck everybody :) dont give up! (Big plus if u speak spanish!.. dont forget to write that on ur resume!!) |

You cant you are worthless. Unless you have 2 years of university you are considered nothing. That is how the world is right now. Kind of sad considering two years is the only thing good enough to get you minimum. If you are old enough I would reccomend you try to be a cop. If you still am not old enough wait till you are and become a cop. They do not always make you go to school even if the internet information says so it is all wrong. Cops also get schooling and get paid while going to training for the first months of the job. So I would reccomend this if you have not already think of it. They hire often. If not and you can drink at your age go for a bartending job. |
