I graduated with my MSN in Maternal and Women's Health in June 2009 from the University at Buffalo. After graduation, I worked for a while as an RN doing med./surg. travel nursing and took some time to study for my boards. Currently, I am a WHNP-BC who has been actively pursuing employment for the last couple of months and have been unsucessful. I very rarely see open positions in NYC and if so they all require 3 to 5 years experience. I'd like to stay in the NYC metro area but am open to relocating to areas such as the DC metro or Atlanta, Georgia. Does anyone know about possible job opportunites in any of these areas or can simply offer some advice. Thank you in advance for your time and your help. |

I recently graduated from the University of Cincinnati with an MSN, ARNP in Women's Health, I am board certified through NCC. I am very excited and I am in need to start working ASAP. I am an experienced Women's Health NP in the San Francisco Bay Area. As far as I can see the WHNP jobs have dried up due to the Affordable Health Care Act. Employers want Adult or Primary Care nurse practitioners. We need to lobby for intense internships so we can retool our skills. |
