What do you enjoy most about nurse practitioner work? What do you dislike the most? Is it challenging? Are there many opportunities to learn and advance?

What keeps you at your job?

I hate it when I ask how long a problem has been going on and pts say "awhile"
I hate it when pts come in and the issue is really anxiety/depression but they have been consulting Dr Google and are convinced that they have some other weird thing.
I hate ICD coding
I hate "borderline MDs" They are the ones who seem to have the most issues with NPs
Am I getting burned out after 20 years? Am I looking for a non-clinical job? Yes

I enjoy watching the progress, of pts reporting how much better they're doing.
I enjoy working with other, smart, dedicated clinicians, who challenge my thinking and make me stretch to upgrade my skills.
I hate working with MA's and other support staff who try to "play doctor" and make my work so much harder by not by supportive.
I hate having my working relationship w/ other clinicians interfered with by administration, making it hard to deliver good care.
