I'm having difficulty finding work as an FNP. I graduated last June and quickly got my license and certification. I apply to available jobs, but if I get any feedback about my applications it's that other candidates are more desirable simply because they have experience. I've tried going to practices in person to try to make a good first impression, but I've been told that that's inappropriate and that applications and other employment queries should be submitted online (which I feel takes out the personal component of a job application). I'm new but I'm good at this. I've worked hard to get here and feel it would be a terrible waste if I can't find work. Can anyone offer any advice about how to market myself to get my foot in the door? At this point, I'm unable to move, so I need something that's here in the Portland, OR area. Thank you! :) |

I cannot help you figure out how to get your foot in the door, but i can tell you that I am having the same problem. I do not know what to do either. But keep your head up, and have faith in God that the right job will present itself to you.

I definitely understand how you feel. I'm having the same problem here in Virginia; it has been very disappointing. hope to starting volunteering at a free clinic in order to obtain some experience. Good luck! |
