What is a nurse anesthesiologist, and what do they do? Is it hard work, and is the schooling hard?

I just heard about this career not to long ago, and when I saw the pay I was totally stunned. It's like $80,000 and up! Can someone please tell me a little more about this career?

In my limited understanding, what you are interested in is a nurse anesthetist position. An anesthesiologist is a physician who specializes in administering anesthesia for people having surgery. A nurse anesthetist performs most of the same functions, but must work under the oversight of an anesthesiologist. Lots of schooling involved, must be good in math and science.
