I am interviewing for a traveling sales position. All expenses paid and commissions are paid. The base pay is in question. How much are base salaries these days? |

From my past experience, base pay is usually anywhere from $30,000-$55,000 dollars. That is not including any benefits such as health care, expenses, car allowance, laptop. Prospective employees who have more experience in sales would get a higher base salary DOE. Also if you have a product that has a long sales cycle or does not sell very fast or very well. you may want to adjust according to that. the point of a base is to keep you going until you can carry yourself with your commissions.
