Paralegal2012 in United Kingdom

I was searching for a Paralegal job on GumTree, and I found Aston Carter Solicitors. A London law firm offering a new career path to be admitted to the role, but you have to pay £9,500 to do a course. If you do not do this course you cannot work as a paralegal in this firm.

The firm promises to pay for my LPC after I start working for them for £15,000 a year!

Is this a scam? Or are other Law Firms doing this?

What you found was not a job. It it actually a site for schools. I have been a legal assistant for 20 years, and those sites are so sophisticated, you think you are applying for a job, but you aren't. I have come across that several times. And I was almost fooled. (I already have several college degrees, including paralegal).

But when I called them they confirmed that if I come for an interview and am successful I will get a contract before I start the course which out lines the promise of a job at the firm, also my LPC.

So you're going to spend another £9.5 k and work for free during that period to get a 15 k job. The world has gone mad.
