I think auditing skills, high level of excel i.e. pivot tables & vlook ups to assist in auditing, and the ability to work longer hours than others. |

1. People skills - get to know your staff. Listen to what they have to say as they are your back bone in the department. They are dealing with the day to day small problems. 2. Software savvy - Be sure to really know the ins/outs of your system.
Becoming good at anything takes time. Don't think on becoming a good payroll manager but a good manager. You can learn payroll but it's hard to learn to be a good manager. That is a tool you can apply in payroll or any other job you go into. Good luck! |
