PeopleSoft DBA Needed in Houston!!

Our client is a billion dollar, publicly held, global oilfield provider of engineered services and products primarily to the offshore oil and gas industry, with a focus on deepwater applications. Through the use of its applied technology expertise, they also serve the defense and aerospace industries. They are highly profitable, experience double digit annual growth and have very low turn-over.

Qualifications:

College Degree in a related field (e.g. Computer Science).

Experience:

Four years practical experience administering PeopleSoft ERP systems.

Candidate must demonstrate a high level of proficiency in:

o PeopleSoft system upgrades, patching & installations

o PeopleSoft system administration

o Production environment support & troubleshooting.

o Database & instance tuning and performance optimization.

o SQL/index application tuning

o Back up and recovery

o Database development and normalization

o Job/task scheduling & scripting

o Database cloning and refreshing

Four years practical experience administering Oracle databases, experience with 10g and above preferred.

Four years practical experience working on Linux or UNIX platforms and Windows servers.

Basic O/S system administration is required, with a sufficient level of proficiency in file system operations, shell scripting, security, etc.

Experience managing PeopleSoft software & configuration on database, application, web, PS report/batch, and file servers.

Skills & Knowledge:

Database administration, maintenance, & design, and enterprise-oriented solutions.

Proficiency in Linux/UNIX shell scripting & Windows batch scripting is required.
