Are jobs in this industry on the rise? Are there any sub-sectors that are growing?

Where are the jobs? Which places have the most personal care attendant opportunities?

There are plenty of openings, but no real good pay. The benefits are still lacking and there is not a lot of advancement opportunities. My workplace has had a extreme turnover rate and in the last seven years, I haven't seen my site be fully staffed once. Most of us PCA's are working on the average of 10-20 hours of overtime a week just to ensure the basic needs of our consumers are being met. This has raised the amount of workplace injuries also.

Most new hires leave within a month as they can get the same pay (or better) at a retail/restaurant business. I personally haven't had a raise in over three years and I am going to making the switch to another field as well. It's sad, but after 10 years, I can't afford to wait for this company to get it's act together an longer. The only ones who really lose out are the consumers.
