What are the top 3 traits or skills every personal care attendant must have to excel? Can you suggest any tips or insights to develop your personal care attendant expertise? |

What do you have to do to be certified as a PCA? I'd like to quit my job and be the caregiver for my grandmother. I need income but don't want her in a nursing home.

I would say patience is important, being respectful, and to always help promote your clients independence. Probably the best thing you could do to hone those skills is to get to know someone disabled. Really Spend time with them, figuring out their speech, getting to know them. You'll be a richer person for it.Also they could recommend you to their friends. Attendants with some experience are given more consideration |

All of these sre true and to the point. Consideration and acknowledgement of one another is important. And allowing a person with a disability to do what they can shows them they are a capable person. |

Allow an individual to do what they are able to. Do not stop them from furthering themselves. |

Be in a positive mood. Any troubles or problems should be left outside of work! |
