What is the best training for becoming a pest control technician? What types of ongoing training or certifications are necessary to be an effective pest control technician?

The best training is the on the job training. You can read books and take test all day long, but you will still be clueless until you experience some of the situations involved.

Oh Yeah almost forgot. You can contact your state agriculture dept. and take an aprenticeship class. That is really all you can do. It will also teach you everything that you can learn until you get the job. My advice to you is to make sure thats what you want to do. It isn't a easy as you may think.
