Ask a Pharmacist in Darwin, Australia

Do pharmacists in the US prefer the current system of ownership of pharmacies by large supermarket groups, or the old pharmacist independent owned system? Everything I have read seems to indicate the former, but there seems to be not much resistance by the pharmacists to try lobby more control to return to the pharmacist. I realise it would be a big task to revert the system if it was desired, but I was curious whether the monetary compensation and seemingly better salaries that US pharmacists get, outweigh lack of ownership possibilities.

The market has reached a point where it is controlled by big chain. Independent pharmacies do exist in small numbers and in isolate locations providing specialised services. However, to revert back to the other system as you suggest is impossible and naive as it is driven by market economy
