Innovative provider of phone-based professional services to health care
facilities is establishing a new "virtual pharmacist" operation. The
company's first contract requires Pharmacists to provide after hours, offsite inpatient pharmacy services Monday through Friday (except Federal Holidays): 11:00 p.m. CST until 7:00 a.m. CST the next morning and Saturday, Sunday, and Holidays: 4:00 p.m. CST until 7:30 a.m. CST the next morning. Pharmacists shall provide prescription verification and appropriate clinical recommendations to
referring nurses and physicians via a secure web-based system and be readily
available for telephone consultations regarding urgent/emergent medications
and clinical needs. The pharmacists shall provide professional inpatient
pharmacy services to complete pending inpatient orders when the inpatient
pharmacies are closed. This includes the professional review and problem
solving needed to assure safe and appropriate medication processing. The
Pharmacist shall assist with quality assurance reviews for
"locum tenens" pharmacists. All pharmacists must have an active license
recognized by the Board of Pharmacy in one of the 50 states. The license
must be in good standing.
