I am not certified at this time. My long term goal to work in a Hospital pharmacy and I am wondering the best route to take to do so? I really don't want to spend the money on the Technical school training if I dont have to.

Will Walgreens/CVS train you and prepare you?

I know I will definitely need the certification to work in a hospital. Thank you

Hi

I was with cvs for about 1 and one half years. I never got my certification just my license . I now currently work in a out pt setting in a hospital. Depending on the hospital you can cross train to go inpatient as well .Being certified may help but 1 year exp is a must.

I know for a fact that CVS and Walgreens will "train" you or at least pay for the testing. You have a year or two to get certified but from what I read, retail pharmacy is brutal due to the sheer number of script you have to fill. I was very fortunate and managed to get a job working in a in patient pharmacy with no experience or connections.
