Are jobs in this industry on the rise? Are there any sub-sectors that are growing?

Where are the jobs? Which places have the most photographer opportunities?

I feel you have to make your own way. I still struggle with finding my voice, what I want to do.

An established photog once told me that "if you do this work for money, you'll never be a great photographer". That is so true.

Another person said that that "there are those in the business of photography and photographers in business". There is a difference.

I cannot help but feel that the above statements are what makes or breaks a photog especially if you are trying to make a living at it.

All too true. How to find a job as a photographer?
1. Make all stock agencies disappear.
2. Be female.
3. Be under 40.
4. Be independently wealthy.
This BS about women being discriminated against, in this field, is utter and absolute BS. Disagree? Read the names of the staff of any popular consumer-oriented magazine. Trust me.

Those women are probably way under paid for the 3 positions they no doubt juggle being on a magazine staff.

Publishing is a sh*tty industry, anyway. That is why you see so many women's names on mastheads.
