What is the best training for becoming a physical security specialist? What types of ongoing training or certifications are necessary to be an effective physical security specialist?

What do non-traditional career paths look like?

A professional Physical Security must have working knowledge of other connecting security (information, personnel, AT/FP, COOP, Guards) to be a complete Physical Security Specialist. You build a unique box to fit the needs of your current tasking, create and use projected security metrics to project a plan of growth as you go forward. When initiate your planning. Contingency planning must be included to address possible threats that could cause you to alter your operations for a short period of time or require relation to continue in your mission. Be prepared to expand your box to address changes (increase personnel, connecting communities, major construction, expanded tasking). You don't get a second chance to do it right.

Certifications: Physical Security, Security Specialist, Contingency of Operations Planner, Security Manager, Personnel Security, Operations Security, Security Briefer, Executive Protection, Security System Engineer. Information Security.
