Hi, I am a foreign trained PT from Taiwan. I have also finished the post-professional DPT program from Loma Linda University, CA. I am now looking for a PTLA job preferably in Orange county but am flexible with any location in the southern California. I am eligible to work in the US and do not need visa/PR sponsorship. Please contact me if anyone knows any opening. Thanks a lot, Ingrid Wu |

If you have not found a job yet, why not consider talking to me about a job in Lake City, South Carolina? My son is keen on acquiring his PT degree in Taiwan, but cannot find much information about the particulars of the degree, such as which university offers the course, and how much it costs, etc. If you could help him out with this that would be great! Please reply to this post soon. Thanks! |

Hi Githa, Thanks for the offer, but I am not looking into relocating to other states. As for acquiring PT degree in Taiwan. There are many schools offer PT degree. The entry level degree is BS in PT which is the current requirement to take the licensing exam in Taiwan. Here are few schools that have good PT programs:
However, I don't recommend your son to acquire PT degree in Taiwan if he eventually wants to come back to the US. |

Salaries are very specific to the region where you are working and depend mainly on industry standards in your area. However, do not expect to be paid at full PT hourly wage as you are not licensed.
Now, if your question is "how much would you pay me ? " I'd tell you to send me your resume, then fill up an application and finally let's have an interview. Then and only then, I'll make you an offer if we both decide we are interested. So if you're interested, please email me at : clement.PT@gmail.com with your resume and contact info and we'll move forward from there. |

I am a team leader for 3 different neurobehavioral units within a rehab hospital. My expertise is behavioral rehab but I work with several other healthcare members including OTs, PTs, SLPs, CTRs, Nurses, Psychologist and Doctors. I am currently making 59,000 per year. The issue for me is that there is no room to move up and I am feeling alittle burn out in the behavioral health field, have been in this field for a long time. I have always been fascinated with the practice of PT and wish that I had gotten into it when it was a bachlor degree. There is no way that I would have the time or money to earn a DPT. Which brings me to my point, I am interested in becoming a PTA but am worried that I will not beable to make what I am making now. I feel that I would really enjoy working in this rewarding profession but salary is very important because I am 41 years old and have a wife and family. My other avenue would be to go to school and become a licensed social worker. If any of you have any input or advice it would truely be appreciated |
