Hello there, I am seeking the advice, thoughts, and opinions of experienced PTAs. I am currently making education/career choices, and I am considering entering the 2-year PTA program at my local college. I would appreciate hearing the thoughts and perspectives of people who work or have worked in the field, or who have insight into the work of a PTA. I have many questions, and I would love advice on any and all of them...e.g.: Is the job demanding and high-stress, or more relaxed? What are the most important elements of the career, both positive and negative, to be aware of?
At the core of my consideration of the PTA program is a deep love for people, and a desire to help and serve others. However, I'm not the best at working in high-stress, confining, or depressing situations. All of your comments and insights are welcome and much happreciated. Thank you! |

Same here as the above. I just changed my program to PTA, but there is an approx 3 year waiting list. I hear that the program is very intense, but I have the desire to learn. I've done a few research on the forum and learned a few things: 1. There are many petite women in the field that have said there is not much heavy lifting (in outpatient, at least).
More information from others would be great! |
