I am in my first year of PTA school and beginning to think about specialties that would bring value to my position and opportunities for more income. So far I am pretty open, but am interested in Aquatics; also Dry Needling, but not sure if either of these can be a specialties for PTAs, or where to learn the skills. I am also interested in Cranio-Sacral as well as Trigger Point therapies. Are there other PTAs with specialties, or additional certifications/skills that increase your value or income level? What specializations would PTs like to see when choosing a PTA to work with?
