I just got accepted into a PA program in Florida. My dad joined the army before getting a Master's degree and suggested I look into doing the same and they might cover my expenses. I noticed on the Go Army website, they have information for physicians and nurses, but no options for physicians assistants. This seems ironic to me since the PA profession started with army medics. Anyone know anything about this? Is it possible to enlist as a PA student, have tuition reimbursed and then serve after completion of a program?

Congrats. I just got accepted into the PA program in Iowa.
I am a reserve medic soldier, and talked to the medical recruiter earlier. He informed me that the only way the army will assist PA students is AFTER GRADUATION! After you graduate from the PA and pass the boards exam, you can enlist as PA medical officer, and they pay what you owe for students loans used for PA school. you can not enlist while you are in school as the case in nursing. It is an after graduation process.
Good luck

I don't think the recruiter's answer is correct. I work with an Army MD who states PA's "trained in the Army PA program" are top-notch. I also contract with the Dept of Defense and have talked to Army PA's. Look into it further. I believe it is an extremely competitive program, but you will be good either way you go. If you are ALREADY in a PA program, then you can't enlist-- but if you enlist in the reserves prior and serve as a medic while getting your pre-requisites, you have a shot at the ARMY program.
