Often the problem will appear to be a pressure issue when it comes to volume or flow issue. A restriction in a line or just having a long line or under sized line could be the problem. There are many considerations; do you have enough pressure at your mains? Do you have an old furred up pipe work, perhaps lead or galv? Is your main stop open fully?
If you install a pressure gauge, you can check pressure. It should be above about 35 PSI. 35 PSI would be on the low side, but should be ok. Look at the www.milwaukeeplumbers123.com/plumbing_services/ then look at it when the water is on full in the bathtub. If the pressure is ok until you turn on the water than it is a flow problem.

One way to over come this is to install a pressure tank and check valve. The tank will give you the flow and the check valve will keep the flow going only into the tank or house. The in-coming flow will feed your tank and house as the water is used, so the tank should last for a long time before you see a loss of pressure. I have had good results with this set up. One last thing to check is for clogged aerators at the sinks and showerheads. Good luck.

Depending on the year of the house. your pipes may be corroded with rust. The Solution, have the pipes blown out and relined with epoxy. Call ASE Flo-Rite in Brookfield Wisconsin for an estimate. Cheaper than replacing your pipes, plaster or tile. Here is the link, www.aseflorite.com. Good luck! Rob

its a volume problem, if the main pipe is to small, to feed the branches, than when you turn on all your fixtures there is no flow and it depends on what kind of pipes you have in the system. heres a question for you, I have a fairly new house, its a slab house, its all copper pipe in the slab, its pvc, from the house to the meter, but theres no pressure in any of my fixtures on either side all the fixtures have been taken apart to check for a blockage and none were found. what would you do. I know the answer, I just want to see if you are a trouble shooter.

Simple, locate your water meter valve box, which supplies your home with potable water,or if you have a basement in which your homes water supply (point of entry)enters, there you will find a pressure reducing valve that is adjustable

WOW!! I have read 6 different solutions to this and no one even asked the person where they are experiencing the lower pressure. No one knows what the problem is until you look at it. It could be as simple as unscrewing the aerator in the sink and blowing the gunk out of the screen. No wonder some of you are here searching for jobs...

California Plumber it would be easy to Troubleshoot. First, assuming that there are no valves closed either at the meter or at the transition fitting from pvc to copper, since it is a new house I would shut the meter off and would look to see if dirt and tiny pebbles got pushed up into the angle stops on the fixtures. Usually that just happens at the end of the line, but I would check anyway there. If they were not clogged up I would see if it had pressure there and go from there.

Check to see if you have a water restriction washer in the aerater of your faucets that may help give you more pressure.

all the replys, are good things to try, if the homeowner says they don't have pressure on the hotside only and nothing is blocked, its a slab house, and its piped with copper, all the way upto the fixture, all thru the house, theres no pressure on the hotside, the water heater is brand new, I've checked the heater and everything is hooked up right, so I decide to disconnect the heater on hotside, install a ballvalve, with a hosebibb adapter, I than cap off the shower, take supplys off lav and hook them together, same thing under k.s. the valve to heater is off I have a hose hooked up to the hot feed, I now turn on all of the cold and hot so that they cross over and the cold water blows out the hotside, for about and hour, I rehook everything back to the way it was, the pressure is equal to the cold. the homeowner is happy, a plumber is kind of like a docter, you really can't make a chioce unless you can see the problem, unless its some simple thing, like, the plumber was here and worked on wc but it won't flush, so I said go pull the lid off, and than try it, she comes back and says it works fine, well I tell her the chain on the flapper is to long, but for something like, yesterday I had 60psi. now, I have nothing. thats a problem you need to go and scope out, it could be, the prv, old pipes from a old culligan system.

I see you're in Chicago. Many of the people who "answered" your qustion are in other places where the plumbing is different from how it is here.
The solution is to call me. Search for my user name, go to my website for my info, then call me. I give free consultations over the phone and if you need repairs, my rates are the best.
