What is the best training for becoming a policy analyst? What types of ongoing training or certifications are necessary to be an effective policy analyst?

You need a good combination of quantitative knowledge (read: Statistics) and writing skills, then the field of analysis doesnt matter. Also, it depends on who the client is, or the audience in the particular industry.

I am also interested in this question as I am considering a M.P.H. Is that not the preferred degree for a policy analyst? The mph would be my only professional degree. I've heard that u are overlooked for applicants with dual degrees like MPH/MD and MBA/MPH.
Is that true?
