What do you enjoy most about being a preschool teacher? What do you dislike the most? Is it challenging? Are there many opportunities to learn and advance?

What keeps you at your job?

I Have been doing daycare on and off for about five to six years, what keeps me coming back is a genuine love of whatching kids discover, and interacting with them. Also I love the creativity of lesson planning and center creating, room decorating and all that.
I really dislike days where you just feel overwhelmed which is almost as often as the days that are going well. Over all it's the challenge of balancing it all that makes it worthwhile.
The pay is deplorable.

I have been a pre-school teacher for 22 years. It has been the most rewarding experience in my life. I think I will never change this profession eventhough, monetarily speaking is not much, but knowing that I touch many lifes, childrens and adults at the same time in different ways that's what really completes me as a person in my daily life.

I have been in childcare/preschool for 10 years plus a AD in early childhood ed. I loved help children learn and grow what other job can you get where you get paid to play plus it was great from when I had my own child. Since there was little I had not seen or heard she rarely can pull a fast one on me or cause me to worry of the little things. Because of the years of teaching and my education I am able to teach/raise my little one in a way that is best.

It also help with breast feeding since I was right there and could take my break.

I just got back into childcare and the pay is LOW LOW LOW. But with a CDA and associates or bachelors in early childhood, then the pay can go up.

I love children, and I love to aide in their growth and be a part of raising them.

Like any job, there are great and horrid days. Look to work in a stimulating environment with directors dedicated to professional development, a generous budget, supportive parents and a LOW teacher to student ratio (two teachers to 12-16 pre-k kids). Forget about a livable wage, though. Tutoring, babysitting, and teaching enrichment classes on the side are jobs the teachers at my school do to make it work.

I love teaching my little ones. I have been teaching for 6 years and it is so much fun and never has a dull moment. Now, It can be stressful at times but what job isn't? The best part is that you mean so much to all those little ones and they all look up to you,and in the end you can look back and say I taught them that. That makes me feel wonderful. I also love the little things they say it always puts a smile on my face because at this age they are so innocent and just down right honest. they tell it like it is.
