How did you get your start doing production supervisor work, and what career moves did you make to get to your current position?

Do you need a particular educational background?

Get a job as a line lead. I got my foot in the door working as a line supervisor for a smaller company. Some smaller companies are more willig to give you a shot as an entry level supervisor. In the meantimem be professional and dependable, volunteer for opportunities that come your way such as joining the safety committee, being a First Responder,or a union rep, learning to repair/operate machinery, learn to drive a fork lift, and show interest in Continuous Improvement.
