What is the best training for becoming a project analyst? What types of ongoing training or certifications are necessary to be an effective project analyst?

What do non-traditional career paths look like?

AOS (Administration Office Specialist) classes, Excel, and any other typing/reporting trainings are a big part of this type of career. The more efficient you are in Excel, the better.

Excel is ok especially for finance/costings but there are project software packages and yes I think a degree and chartership is good.
As a contractor I like to offer the cream of competencies.
