Do some companies pay a lot more for this position than others? What does a top earner make in this field?

What skills should you learn to increase your salary?

Yes, some companies pay more than others. It depends on your level of experience and your focus. You have to remember that each company is different. One may offer a lower salary but a better benefits package and vice versa so there is no definite way to tell. Also, it depends on your location. An entry level project engineer may start out at $45k in Mississippi and $60 in Nevada.

A sure plus is to obtain your Professional Engineers (PE) Liscense when eligible. Any additional certifications are a big plus and help in pay...plus the more education that you have ex: Master's and PhD. It also makes you more competitive when applying for various positions.
