Returning to proof operator career

I was a proof operator back in 1998 & 1999 & miss it so much! I wish I could get a job in this profession now, but I need to work weekends because of hubbys job & daycare costs.

I currently work in the healthcare field as a clinical secretary & have recently felt a strong desire to switch career fields.

I love working with numbers & miss the challenges that being a proof operator provided. I know that college is not a requirement of this job, but what skills could I learn while waiting for a return to this profession? Has this profession changed much in the last 7 years?
