Can I have a QA tester position with my software development experience?

I've worked in IT field more than 9 years as software developer, but now I want to change my career to QA Engineer. But so far I had no luck finding one.

Should I start as a junior QA Engineer and build up experience in QA? Please give me your thought on this.

I would suggest you look for QA roles that require some coding experience. Automation is currently big in the QA world. Check on the L-3 Communications website for Automation Test positions. If none aren't currently available keep checking back monthly..hint hint.

San Francisco, CA is very expensive. You are going to pay over $1,500 a month for a 1BR apartment.

Hope your hint proves useful. L-3 Communications is under a hiring freeze and probably won't be hiring for the rest of the year.
