How did you get your start doing qa analyst work, and what career moves did you make to get to your current position?

Do you need a particular educational background?

I was originally an IT administrator and I knew someone who was already a QA Analyst. I was fortunate enough to be allowed to shadow (per say) that QA along w/ the group. Eventually over a period of time, I was able to understand how everything worked and was able to use that company as a voluntary on my resume and what I knew was impressive so I was given the opportunity. And the rest is history.

I took up a QA Analyst course in Mannual testing. It was a one month course on weekends only. Than prepared a resume ( Thanks to Google). Prepared for interview , by going thro' various forums and interview questions and learned the ins and outs of the current project as written in the resume. Was able to face the interview with confidence. And have secured a job.

Hope this helps to the ones searching for a QA Analyst job.
