What requirements are there to become a home inspector in New Jersey? Home inspectors come from many different backgrounds, from real estate agents to engineers to construction professionals. While this is not a requirement, these folks often get involved with providing general home inspections while doing their regular job so naturally there are a lot of these types of professionals who go onto to become licensed home inspectors. In New Jersey, in order to become a licensed home inspector please refer to the info found accurateinspections dot com, one must go through a rigorous training at an ASHI (American Society of Home Inspectors) approved institute in order to learn the fundamentals of skilled legal home inspection. This course includes at least nine (9) in-depth modules relating to the materials and construction of the home as well as procedures to conducting a legally binding home inspection. Following the course, participants must take a New Jersey state administered test at an approved testing site. Once a home inspector becomes licensed, they must maintain their license by taking continued education courses every year.
