Do any of you deal with preconstruction sales? I am working on a project that has apparently been going on for quite some time. My boss wants me to come up with some kind of letter to send out to our clients who have paid over a year ago to keep in touch with them so they don't pull out. Can anyone share with me their letters they've sent out to clients on this sort of thing? |

Very good topic in my opinion. I do not work in preconstruction sales but I had a company for about ten years in the general field. I have written such letters to old clients and discovered that many clients will reply with things like "Great! Thanks, I had lost your e-mail address (or phone number) and was just saying to someone the other day that you did excellent work but I couldn't relay the information, etc." Your boss is a good businessman. I don't hold to the idea of spamming one's clients with a deluge of advertisements on a weekly basis but the occasional letter to let them know you are still around is an excellent idea. The letter should just be a friendly note to say that you want to thank them for previous business and to give them current information for contacting your business. You might also mention any changes such as additional services or products that you now offer. It need not be a long thing but it should be readable as more a thank you note and an update as opposed to an advertisement. |
