I am currently working on a Finance degree with a real estate concentration. Would it be beneficial to work for a commercial broker and and gain some experience or get Argus certified. I work FT and go to school FT so I don't have the time to do both.

Commercial real estate brokers make cold calls and use relationships to gain transactions. The market is too soft for an entry level associate to make it in real estate unless you are a great sales person with a superb mentor! Being a real estate analyst is overrated in many ways. You crunch numbers all day, do market research and write stupid pitch books for brokers, private equity firms, etc. I used to be one and I honestly don't mind it rewarding. Best of luck in your search to becoming a broker or analyst! You should check out selectleaders or pay for doostang to look for opportunities. Your best bet is networking!
