Do some companies pay a lot more for this position than others? What does a top earner make in this field? What skills should you learn to increase your salary? |

Yes. Where I work, I make $45K per year and I've seen a few other jobs posted that can make as much as $80K per year. But I think the $40-50K range is standard for smaller companies. Not too shabby. You may even be able to break into the 6 figures range if you stick with your company and get raises or bonuses or your company creates a Lead Recruiting Coordinator role. As with any career, the more years of experience under your belt, the better chance of forcing a job offer to meet your salary demands. A company like Aerotek or Metlife would be more likely to pay a higher salary than that of a small IT firm. And depending on the region of the job, like in NY City, the jobs can make as much as $80K depending on where you work. I think the Law firms probably pay the most for Recruiting Coordinators. To increase your salary, it's important to have good initiative and social skills to deal with all levels of management. In my job, I frequently have to deal with dealing with recruiters, vendors, my direct manager, Project Managers, and upper management and even the IT Support department. I'll have to create reports, schedule mass hiring events, set up and book conference rooms for interviews and video conferencing, and much more. It keeps you on your toes. The tough part is recruiters tend to change things on you at the last second which makes scheduling tough. And when the interviews happen, sometimes the higher ups are not easy to get interview feedback from. I've had to frequently chase a few Project Managers around a week after they interviewed someone just to finally get feedback. |
