Do some companies pay a lot more for this position than others? What does a top earner make in this field?

What skills should you learn to increase your salary?

My current Understanding of the Market for SQL Server DBA (Data & Solutions Architect) in the Southeast USA, of which there are two types (Production and Development) where production folks are on the lower end of the scale for all levels. Meaning creative thinkers are worth more than foot soldiers.

Beginner: 70K  90K / year or $35  $45 / hour
Intermediate: 100K  120K / year or $50  $60 / hour
Senior: 140K  160K / year or $70  $80 / hour
Very Senior 180K  200K / year or $90  $100/ hour
