Do you have any tips to help prepare for an upcoming safety manager interview? Are there common interview questions that come up again and again? |

Safety is a symbiotic field...chemistry is very important as you will be regarded as a Senior Manager and a equally valuable resource. So you will want to know about the company's management style. You can check the OSHA web site and find out if the company has any recent OSHA violations or fatalities. This could be very challenging because you are being asked to right the ship. Find out if this is a new position or was the last candidate released for failure to get buy in from Executive management. Does the executive board include safety as a topic during it's meetings? Check the web for annual reports from the company you are interviewing with. |

SeanTesh in Herndon, Virginia said: Hi All, I would expect to be asked about my experience working with people who work aloft, Training, evaluations, challenges. If you have been involved in the field for a while I would be prepared with some "war stories" and examples of what you did to identify and fix safety problems. Go to the OSHA web site and find out if they have had any fatalities or citations. If they have, work those (carefully) into the conversation. |
