I am a nurse who has made my own uniforms for several years now.I am very creative and I receive compliments daily from my coworkers and patients alike. Many have asked if I'd make them uniforms and have asked what would I charge. I have put it off till now because I was having a hard time coming up with a price list. Because the cost of material can vary so much, I decided to have the customer provide their own fabric and notions. But I am stuck on what to charge. I am afraid of over charging but then again I am not working for free either. At first I thought I'd charge $20 for 1 piece (either a scrub top or pants) and $30 for 2 pieces (top and pants / one complete uniform). Is that too much? My second thought was $20 for the 1st piece and $15 for each piece there after. I would love to hear from other people about this. I also will charge extra for customizing such as having their name embroidered on the scrub top.

Thanks!

Go to your local fabric store and pick out fabrics that is always on the reorder list. Most fabric stores don't mind cutting you a small peice of each fabric you choose. You can show the peices to your clients. That way you know the price of fabrics and supplies. Charge $20 plus the cost of fabrics and supplies plus an extra $5 for gas and shopping fee. You might end up charging about $45 for total cost. Just make sure you get a $20 profit.
