I've worked in Security for over twenty years. I started out as a Air Force Security Specialist and after getting out of the service I quickly jumped into civilian security. Over the years I've worked Security from Hawaii to the Middle East and it's been great! The travel, the money the friends I've made along the way have been completely amazing. For those of you that are just starting in ths career field I have some advice for you. Make a plan for your security future and above all take some courses to educate youself about the field. The sky's the limit in security if you knw where to look, and make sure that you network, network and then network some more. Sometimes jobs land at your feet because of someone you've met in your past.
Recently I released a book called Observe & Report, Behind the Scenes with Security, in Their Own Words. In this book I allow professional Security Personnel from around the world to talk about things that happen on the job. It's insightful and interesting for anyone in the career field or thinking about getting in. Observeandreport.net
